This family run guest house is located away from noisy Thamel but still within a 5 minute walk. Set in a lovely garden it’s peaceful place to spend a few nights.
With only 10 rooms there’s never a crowd around and you are the highlight of the families attention should you need anything. There’s long term apartment available for guests who fall in love with Kathmandu.
If you are reading an old guidebook keep in mind that Souvenir Guest House has moved up the road and did a complete renovation in 2014!
Rooms & staff
The rooms in Souvenir Guest House are small to mid-sized. Certainly nothing too get excited about but they are kept very clean. Cosy is a good word for accommodation here.
There’s a small TV in many rooms and private en suites. There’s also a very basic smaller room that’s great for people on a low budget.
The bathrooms are clean with a solar tanks ensuring hot water.
I found the family very friendly and knowledgeable about what to do in Kathmandu with no hard tour sales talk.
