Let’s look inside
Green Hotel is located only 3-5 minutes walk from the main gates of Boudhanath stupa in Kathmandu. Don’t let that put you off in the least. It means peace and quiet in a family run B&B style hotel while being right next to one of the world’s largest stupas.
Green’s offers 21 rooms which are a mix of deluxe and suite offerings along with long-stay apartments. The interior decor is a mix of Tibetan and Sherpa making it a great place to soak up both cultures.
There’s a lovely little secluded garden where where breakfast, lunch or dinner can be served from the hotels more than capable kitchen.
Rooms & staff
The rooms themselves are quite spacious and very quiet compared to the hotels around the stupa. The beds are large and the linen is clean. While the carpet floors could be exchanged for wood then they are also clean.
All rooms have en-suite bathrooms that are tiled and in good working order. Suites and long-stay apartments offer one or two rooms which is a nice change from the norm.
Perhaps Green Hotel’s greatest asset are it’s loyal and friendly staff. They really are the type of people that will go above and beyond for their guests.
If you are looking to stay in Boudha and want to stay away from the touristy area of the stupa then you will not go wrong with Green Hotel. With free parking and being within walking distance from both Boudhanath stupa and Pashupatimet (30mins) it’s a great choice to stay here.
