Yi Peng or Yee Peng is a Lanna festival of light in Northern Thailand. It's is preformed to honor Buddha. People light paper lanterns and release them all at once. The result is a breathtaking display of floating paper lanterns sailing into the night sky above.

People wish their wrong doings away they release a lantern.
