Machchhendranath temple in Patan, Nepal

Machchhendranath temple, Patan, Nepal

Temple to a rain god in Patan

A little about ...   How to travel here ...

The Machchhendranath temple is dedicated to the god of rain by the same name.

The story goes that the god of rain rescued the city from a drought by freeing some rain serpants that had been trapped in a well.

The Machchhendranath temple is one of the few places in the Kathmandu valley where you can get a clear view inside where there's a statue of Machchhendranath.

Read more about the story behind this temple and how to get there with this guide to the Machchhendranath temple in Patan.
