One-horned rhino bathing

In the middle of the day a rhino takes a river bath in the chitwan jungle

There are over 550 wild rhinoceros' in Nepal. Still an endangered species extensive conservation and anti poaching have help protect the Indian one-horned rhino.

Rhinos can weigh up 3,500kg and are the worlds 4th largest land animal. They are vegetarian with a diet mainly consisting of wild grasses.

It's possible to see wild rhino in Nepal either as part of an elephant safari or on foot via a jungle safari trek.
