The Kathesimbhu stupa is actually a replica of the famous Swayambhunath (monkey temple) also found in Kathmandu city.

There are several small stupas and sculptures around Kathesimbhu stupa which takes center stage. There are several overzealous Thanka painting sellers who have some stalls around this area.
