Monsoon season in Nepal means heavy downpours for 1-2 hours during the months of June/July/Aug.

Localized flooding occurs in Thamel, the main tourist road in Kathmandu during the downpours. Drainage is the main problem. Here shop owners plead with motorists stay clear and not splash their stores!
