Kathmandu city is where the vast majority of international embassies are located. Most of these embassies are located in an area known as Lazimpat. In recent years access to the embassies has been curtailed from manually visiting them, to setting appointments via the telephone to online appointment setting.
Many of the embassies deal with visa applications at set times during the day. Furthermore it's important to research if an embassy will issue a visa from Kathmandu to a destination or whether you can only apply in your home country. It is vital if you are traveling onwards that you get this information before arriving in Nepal.
Similarly It's important to check online at all embassies before visiting them for recent information.
Many Embassies in Kathmandu change their contact telephone numbers and email addresses frequently. Likewise many of the listed telephone numbers are often engaged or lines cannot be established. Once again, do please check online at the embassy to see if the number has changed as this occurs quite frequently.

If your embassy is not listed above, please contact your home country's foreign affairs office. Quite often where a country does not have physical representation a neighboring country will act on their behalf. Many countries use New Delhi in India as their nearest consulate to Nepal. However, you should check with your home country first.
When visiting an embassy do read any instructions they send you carefully. Some have strict policies about bringing mobile phones or other location traceable devices with you. Some embassies offer storage facilities for mobile phones as you enter them.
If you have the contact details of an Embassy not listed above in Nepal, then do please contact me.
