When is the best weather for paragliding or ultralight flights?

Generally speaking, mountain viewing flights occur all year around. However, weather conditions mean that during the monsoon period, flights and views are restricted.

On average, paragliding and microflights are taken first thing in the morning. The earlier (or first flights) offer the best chance at clear weather. Early afternoon flights should not be ruled out during peak season. Though from March to August, afternoon flights are often cloudy, and cancellations occur.

The best months for Paragliding and Ultralight flights are the low precipitation months shown above - Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb.

When is the best weather for trekking around the Annapurna region?

Treks departing from Pokhara are no different weather-wise than any other part of Nepal aside from localized weather conditions. You will not be affected unless taking a flight to Jomsom.

Peak trekking weather months are October-November-December.

The first season of March-April-May will often see cloud cover up to 4,000m.

Please note that while a popular trek, the Annapurna Base Camp trek had been experiencing heavy snowfalls throughout February and March in recent years. It is not recommended you try this trek in the winter or during these months as avalanches and deaths have occurred. Late March and April are usually the best months for the Annapurna Base Camp trek.

Please see my guide on the best times of the year to go trekking in Nepal for more precise information.
